The Score play is set in 1747 Prussia and retells the story of the famous feud between Bach and King Frederick II. The famous composer arrives at Frederick’s court where he is challenged to create a masterpiece on the spot. Their explosive confrontation is brought to life as the play explores the clash between these historical figures.
Leading the cast is the critically acclaimed actor, Brian Cox, best known for his roles in Succession and Deadwood. His portrayal of Bach is “magnificent” (The Telegraph) and a powerhouse performance which is highly anticipated in the West End. Joining Cox on stage as Bach’s Wife, Anna, is his actual wife, Nicole Ansari-Cox. She is best known for her roles in Deadwood and The Biographer and previously starred in Tom Stoppard’s Rock’n’Roll at the Royal Court.
Written by Oliver Cotton (Daytona) and directed by Olivier Award winner, Trevor Nunn (Les Miserables, Cats), the production is “confident and slick” (Bath Echo) and is expected to be popular on the West End.
