Set in 1996, be reunited with the industrial drug-crazed working-class heroes; Renton, Sick Boy, Begbie, Spud, Tommy, and Kelly as they navigate the working-class suburbs of Edinburgh. As they struggle with heroin addiction and economic deprivation, the gang are up against the hurdles of choosing life in a society that doesn’t want to choose them. They are joined by Rebecca McKinnis, Gordan Cooper, Ashley J. Russell, Rosie Dignan and Sophie Hutchinson.
The Trainspotting musical has been written by Irvine Welsh, who adapted it from his 1993 novel of the same name. Music and lyrics are co-written by Welsh and Stephen McGuinness aka Steve Mac. The show is directed and developed by Caroline Jay Ranger (Only Fools and Horses the Musical).
