One of the most delightful children’s theatre events returns to London in July 2021 as The Tiger Who Came to Tea pounces back to the Theatre Royal Haymarket. Based on the beloved picture book by Judith Kerr, The Tiger Who Came to Tea brings the wonderful story to life in a way that kids and grownups will enjoy.

Sophie and her mummy receive a very unusual guest to their dinner table when a tiger arrives unexpectedly and joins them for tea. The story and illustrations of Kerr’s book are brought to life through vibrant costumes, big performances and sing-a-longs that will keep kids engaged from start to finish.

Director and adaptor David Wood (The Witches; Babe the Sheep Pig) brings the book to the stage, with help from assistant director and choreographer Emma Clayton (Aliens Love Underpants). Talented designer Susie Calcutt makes sure the show looks like the book that kids love so much.

The Tiger That Came to Tea is the perfect treat for the summer holidays and an excellent way to introduce children to the joy of live performance.
