National Olivier Seat Prices

Book tickets for productions at the National Theatre.

The current National Theatre building opened in 1976 and is an unmistakable vast concrete building along London’s Southbank. The “Theatre” is actually made up of three theatres, the Olivier, Lyttelton and The Shed. Generally bigger productions run at the Olivier or the Lyttelton. The Olivier Theatre has approximately 1,160 seats spread over two levels; the Stalls and Circle. Both levels have a good view of the stage due to the modern and practical build of the theatre and the curved stage. The best seats tend to be in the centre of both the Stalls and the Circle. Please see the table below for a rough price and seating guide for the Olivier Theatre.
Olivier Theatre Stalls Circle
£12 £12 tickets are largely sold to young people or as restricted view day seats.£12 seats are available in the Stalls in rows A-C. These seats are very close to the stage which means audience members may have to look up to the stage throughout the show. £12 tickets are largely sold to young people or as restricted view day seats.£12 seats make up sears 1-27 and 57-83 in row G of the Circle. These sears are at the back of the auditorium at the far left and right. These seats may feel a bit far back but generally have a good view of the stage. Seats at the far sides of row G may have a slightly restricted view due to their side angle to the stage.
£26 None available. Seats in rows E-F in the left and right hand blocks of the Circle tend to be priced at around £26. These seats may have a slightly restricted view due to their side angle view of the stage, but this only really affects the first five or so seats in the far corners of the auditorium.
£38 Aside from the two seats nearest the aisle, the majority of side block seats in rows D-M are around this price. These seats should offer a good view of the stage, with the best seats at this price being around sears 4-7 and 54-58 in each row. The centre of rows E-G and the side sections of rows A-D are at this price. These seats will have a fairly good view of the stage but may feel a little further back or further to the sides than one might ideally prefer. The best seats at this price are usually found in the middle of row E and around seats 7-19 and 65-76 in rows A-D.
£47 The entire central section of rows D-R are around this price, as are the two seats nearest the central aisle in rows D-M. These seats will have a good clear view of the stage. The central section of rows A-E is usually around this price. These seats will offer great clear views of the stage.
