Shakespeare’s Globe is a reconstruction of the famous Globe Theatre. Opened in 1997, Shakespeare’s Globe is a periodic reconstruction of the Elizabethan playhouse and is now a landmark for tourists visiting London. Situated in The Globe’s original location alongside London’s Southbank, Shakespeare’s Globe is a 10 minute walk away from many major transportation links.

Rail


The nearest national rail station to Shakespeare’s Globe is London Bridge, however the theatre is also near close to London Waterloo.
From London Bridge (10 mins):
Head out of the station towards Southwark Cathedral and down the steps to Bedale Street through Borough Market. Continue along Bedale Street to Clink Street and through the tunnel and towards the river as you join Bankside. Shakeapeare’s Globe is a two-minute walk ahead and will be on the left hand side of the path.
From London Waterloo (15 mins):
Cross the road and head towards Waterloo Bridge. Before the bridge turn right onto the Southbank walk. The globe is a ten minute walk ahead and will be on your right hand side.

The nearest tube stations are London Bridge (Northern (Bank branch) and Jubilee lines), Waterloo (Northern (Charing Cross branch) and Jubilee lines)

Car


Shakespeare’s Globe is located within the London Congestion Charge Zone which applies from 7am until 6pm and costs £11.50 per day. If you are driving to the theatre after 6pm then you will not be charged however visitors are advised to take public transport or a cab.
There is a 24hr NCP car park on Bell Wharf Lane (15 min walk) that charges £21 for up to 3hrs and £30 for 3+hrs.

Taxi


During the theatre season plenty of black caps can be found outside the theatre foyer. There is also a taxi hotspot on the nearby Southwark Bridge.

Boat


Bankside Pier docking point is 10 minutes away from the theatre.
